Current situation

After the deportation of Azerbaijanis that took place in 1987-1991, the Aghbala-Khach church was destroyed because it was not repaired and restored by the Armenian state. Today, the walls of the AghbalaKhach church remain.

Information

To the west of Uzuntala, between the village of Lala and Uzuntala, there is an ancient village. The walls of a small Albanian church, called AghbalaKhach by Armenians, remain there. Next to it is a cemetery with chest stones made of natural solid stones. In the Albanian and Oghuz cemetery, there are gravestones of horses, rams and chests belonging to other tribes of Turkic origin, along with 2-3 meter high solid stones cheststones belonging to Oghuz Turks.

The area where the Albanian church is located was one of the villages destroyed as a result of the wars that took place in 1828-1830. The village was not restored and was not included in the list of I. Chopin due to the fact that it is rich in monuments that are carriers of the material cultural heritage of Azerbaijan.
