- Information
It is possible to talk about its history of at least 1800 years, referring to the remains of the temple dating back to the 5th-4th century, which remained untouched until the deportation of 19871991, in the ruins of Adatapa village, located on a hill that entered the lake in the form of a peninsula, between the villages of Shorja and Ardanish in Chambarak district of Goycha mahal. It was located near Ardanish village in the district, between Ardanish and Shorja villages, 3-4 km northeast of Shorja village. It is marked on the 5 verst map of the Caucasus. It was canceled at the beginning of the XIX century. It is mistakenly identified with the village of Ardanish. Armenian sources indicate that Adatapa was formed based on the name of Adaveng.
The toponym is derived from the combination of the word island, which means "a dry area surrounded by water on all sides" in the Azerbaijani language, and the word tapa, which means "low mountain". It is a toponym with a complex structure based on relief.
