- Information
Garaiman village was founded for the second time by Gara Iman, one of the four brothers who came from Gazakh mahal to Goycha mahal. When Gara Iman came to Goycha mahal from Giraq Kasaman village of Gazakh mahal, seeing that the place has fertile land, abundant water and all kinds of conditions for living, he chose a permanent place of residence for his relatives who came with him. The meaning of the second name of the village, Garaiman, originated from there. The territory of the village is located between two large valleys - Dardara and Kilsali valley, which tells about the history of ancient Albanians and where the remains of the church are located. Only Azerbaijanis lived in the village: 207 people in 1831, 418 people in 1873, 569 people in 1886, 775 people in 1897, 1033 people in 1908, 1079 people in 1914, and 650 people in 1916. The inhabitants of the village were expelled from their native village by Armenians on April 13-20, 1919. After the establishment of Soviet power in present-day Armenia, Azerbaijanis were able to return to the village of Garaiman. 478 people lived here in 1922, 527 people in 1926, 652 people122 in 1931, and 2000 people in 1987. Until the deportation of 19871991, only Azerbaijanis lived in the village.
When the person named Oghruja, who founded the village for the first time, came from Gazakh mahal to Goycha mahal, he saw that the place had fertile soil and plenty of water for living, and he chose that place as a permanent residence for his relatives who came with him. When he founded the village, he chose the Albanian church, which tells about the life of the Albanians in the 12th century, as a place of residence for himself. The first name of the village comes from the meaning of the word Oghruja.
