- Information
According to some explanations, "Zod" in ancient Turkic languages means "a village, a place of residence in a hard, impassable high mountainous area". In the villages of Dashkand and Zod, 4-5 km south-east of this village, was built an Albanian temple belonging to the II-I century BC, which was quadrangular in shape, its height reached 10 m, and its top was covered with raft stones.
The village has been inhabited by Azerbaijanis since ancient times. The temple and its surroundings were the home of Turkic-Oghuz tribes.
