Information

The Mehri Guney mountain range starting from the Debayli pass to the southeast from the Zangazur mountain range, the Bargushad mountains, the "Agh Oyug" sloping plain distributed from the Vedi mountains to the Araz river, the Bazarchay valley occupying the western part of the Karabakh mountain plateau, which includes caves that include ancient human settlements with a history of 12-14 thousand years this historical region was the great abode of the old Turkoghuz tribes in the II-I millennia BC. Caves arranged in a series along the river valley are an example of an underground settlement where an ancient culture was formed. The natural, historical, religious-sacred, cultural-mystical richness of the region, which started from the primitive period, is manifested in the oral and written sources of ancient Turkic languages, place-names, racial-heritage units, social-economic fields. Ancient settlements such as the cave reflect the fact that Azerbaijanis have lived in the region since ancient times. These monuments are ancient examples of scientific and cultural heritage.

The cave in the Bazarchay valley is not only the great abode of the ancient Turkoghuz tribes, but also constitutes their historical and scientific content for millennia. It played the role of protection and shelter for Azerbaijanis in the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflicts of certain periods.
