The tombstone-dome of Badalkhan Bay located in the Aghyazi cemetery was destroyed.

Information

The dome located in the middle of the Aghyazi cemetery belonged to Badalkhan Bay, a member of the Ismayilushagi tribe. Ismayil Bay and Badalkhan Bay, representative of the Ismayilushagi tribe, were among the notable gentlemen of the era. Herds of sheep and lambs did not fit in the foothills of Salvarty mountain. 60 Azerbaijanis lived in Aghudi in 1831, 450 in 1873, 903 in 1886, 1162 in 1897, 1345 in 1908, and 1070 in 1914. In 1918, the Azerbaijani population was subjected to the Armenian genocide and expelled from the village. After the establishment of Soviet power in present-day Armenia, the surviving villagers returned to their villages. 298 Azerbaijanis lived in Aghudi in 1922, 319 in 1926, 496 in 1931, 828 in 1959, and 1222 in 1970.

The toponym was formed on the basis of the name of the Turkicspeaking tribe "uti//udi" with the word "white" which means "respecttable, high, lofty" in the ancient Turkish language. It is an ethnotoponym. It is a structurally complex toponym.
