- Information
To the west of the village of Nuvedi, 6 km away, near the Araz river, in the historical place called "Sham area", there were ruins of an ancient caravanserai dating back to the XV-XVI centuries, most likely this cultural and trade monument. It was a building of international commercial importance extending from Middle Eastern countries to Azerbaijan and neighboring countries. As noted by foreign travelers, the caravansaries that existed at that time were located at a certain distance from each other along the road and were similar in structure and form. Most of these buildings were built of large and big hewn stones, with flat roofs and vaulted rooms.
The caravanserai near the village of Nuvedi is located on the side of a busy road. The settlement of merchants, travelers, researchers and people of many categories from different regions had a great impact on the socio-economic development of the village and its surrounding areas.
