- Information
The Dalikdash cave begins on the cliff about 150-200 meters south of the Dalikdash castle. The natural cave tunnel, which is longer than other caves in the region, goes to the southern slopes of the Goyam ridge, to the Daralayaz depression. The fact that there is an air stream at a depth of about 1 kilometer of the cave indicates that the cave was not closed, but was used more for passage. According to the Armenians who lived in the village in the 80s of the 20th century, "according to the belief of the ancient owners of this village (that is, the Oguz Turks), the Dalikdash cave is magical and no one has been able to pass through it, because the original owner of the cave, Tapagoz, swallowed everyone who stepped here." With this fact, Armenians also confirm that the village is an Azerbaijani homeland.
The toponym is derived from the combination of the word "dalik", which means "deep, narrow hole", “cave”, and the word "dash",which means "mountain, rock" in Azerbaijani. It is a toponym with a complex structure based on relief. The cave is also reflected in the toponym.
