Information

In the village of Subatan, around the Khudat spring dating back to the 4th century BC, there were ancient Albanian gravestones and tombstones with horse and ram sculptures of different sizes and images on them. The height of these stones was between 3-5 m. Now the Armenians took those stones to the neighboring villages of Gizilveng, Godekbulag and Yarpizli. Traces of ancient Albanian history can be found in many places in this area.

In the middle of the 19th century (1850-1860), the head of the Mayilli tribe, Karbalayi Shikhali, chose the present Subatan village as their place of residence together with 8 families from the village of Chakhirli. The name of the village was changed twice until December 1988. Monuments and historical facts confirm that the village belongs to Azerbaijanis.
