- Information
The name of the village of Daligardash is recorded in the archives of the Safavid state. Traces of the village in history go back to the 2nd millennium BC. The fortifications and castle walls in the territory of the village show that the monuments were built by the Turkic tribes living there and that the settlement of the village of Daligardash by the Oghuz Turks has a history of at least 3000 years. In the list of 59 habitable villages of Goycha district, which were included in the Armenian province created by the will of the Russians in 1828, compiled by I. Chopin, the name of Daligardash village was ranked 13th. In 1931, the population of Daligardash village was 376 people, consisting of only Azerbaijanis. In 1828-1830, 182 Armenians were moved to the village from Beyazid uezd of Turkey. In 1897, the number of Azerbaijanis living here was 225 people. In 1918, the Azerbaijani population was subjected to genocide. The survivors left the village. In 1922, 17 families returned to their homeland. During the represssions of 1937, 12 Azerbaijani families from the village were exiled to Kazakhstan.
The toponym was formed by adding the word "brother" to the ethnonym "tele" (>deli)355, one of the ancient Turkic tribes. It is an ethnotoponym. It is a structurally complex toponym. The toponym and the remains of the fortification walls indicate that the main inhabitants of the village are Azerbaijanis.
