Information

There are many things to see and do in the countryside. Among them, the Albanian church of the village called "Kilsalidare" and historical monuments such as cross stones with inscriptions in the Grabar alphabet dating back to the III-V centuries can be mentioned. The width of the village is 3 km, and the length is 2.5 km. The village is located 14 km north of Basarkechar city. The village is bordered by the village of Kasaman 3 km from the west, Bala Mazra (Little Mazra) village 6 km from the southwest, Big Mazra village 6 km from the south, and Janahmad village 4 km from the east. After the clashes in 1905-1907, during the 1st deportation, the villagers were completely displaced from their native lands and settled in Kalbajar, Dashkasan, Gadabay and other places. Most of the village population returned to the village in the spring of 1907, and a small part remained in the areas where they settled. At the time of the 1st deportation, the village had about 100-120 houses and a population of about 500550 people. During the 2nd deportation in 1918-1920, the village population was completely displaced from their homeland and settled in Kalbajar, Dashkasan, Gadabey, Samukh, Shamkir and other places. The village population returned to their native village in the spring of 1921, and a small part remained in the areas where they settled. During the evacuation, the village had about 150170 houses and a population of about 600-650 people. During the 3rd deportation in 1948-1953, the villagers were completely removed from their native land. 170 houses and about 580 people of the village later returned to their native village. During the evacuation the village had 230 houses and a population of about 820 people. During the 4th deportation in 1987-1991, the villagers became refugees from their native land. The village population settled in Baku, Ganja, Tartar, Goranboy, Goygol (former Khanlar), Tovuz and other places.

Ancient homelands and toponyms in the territory of the village indicate that only Azerbaijanis live here.
