Information

The ancient and large caravanserai located in the territory of Gurdugulu region had cells and prayer rooms. The caravanserai had a parking place for caravans, hotel-style rest rooms, a separate place (stable) and mangers for riding and pack animals, a warehouse for storing trade
goods, a shop selling various items, and a dining room.²¹⁷ The length of the caravanserai built from river and rock stones was 35-40 meters, width 12-15 meters, and height 4.5-5 meters. There were rooms on the right and left sides of the 3-arched caravanserai, and a corridor in the middle. All the rooms opened onto the corridor. Around 18-20 rooms were available in the caravanserai.

A caravanserai belonging to Azerbaijanis shows that the area is the homeland of Azerbaijanis. It is one of the residential areas where Azerbaijanis lived until the deportation that took place in 1987- 1991 and were forced to leave afterwards.
