- Information
It is one of the oldest settlements of Goycha mahal, the Caucasus in general, and perhaps the world. The name of this village is found for the first time in a scientifically proven stone inscription dating back to the middle of the VIII century BC. Although Armenian historians tried to link this inscription found in another village of Goycha, in the Kalagiran fortress, to the Urartian kingdom, specifically to the name of "Sarduri's son Rusa", it was exemplified by 3 separate scientists (G.A. Kapantsyan, I.I. Meshshaninov and B.B. Piotrovski). The text obtained by the method of transcription of the copies made reveals the true facts in their complete nakedness. Thus, the text engraved on the rock where the Kalagiran tower is located says: "I defeated twenty-three tsars in one march and subdued them. I defeated four tsars on one side of the lake, and brought 19 towers to their knees on the other side" Until 1828, Azerbaijanis lived here. After 1828, 169 Armenians were resettled from Turkey.
