- Information
After the official inspection and research conducted in the tower, it was revealed that the cuneiform stone inscriptions were carefully cut and removed by the Bishop of Etchmiadzin Church, Mesrop Smbatyants, long ago. He conducted "research" in these places in 1863, and the stone inscription in the Astkhadzor tower was cut and removed by him. After the information about that inscription was discovered on page 27 of the bulletin of the church of Etchmiadzin dated 1869 and in the book "Описание области Гехаркуни" by M. Smbatyants, the fate of the inscription was clarified.
The Aligirikh fortress has nothing to do with Armenians: the material evidence discovered here indicates that the original owners of the fortress, that is, the Oghuz Turks, achieved organized defense consciousness, i.e. development at the level of statehood, 4000 years ago.
