Information

The Khalisa village mosque was located in the Yuvalı neighborhood of the Khalisa village, 10 km southeast of the Vedi district center, in the Iravan district of the Iravan province, near the ditch that branches off the Vedi River. The mosque was built by the philanthropists of the village at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries. The length of the mosque was 10–12, width 6, and height 3.5–4 meters. The mosque was the most common place for the population to gather during religious and national holidays.
It is marked on the 5-verst map of the Caucasus. Armenian sources indicate that another name for the village is Khalisa Güley yurd.
After the establishment of Soviet power, the mosque was closed for worship and used as a granary.

The toponym is derived from the Arabic word "khalisa" which means "state land, land belonging to the state." It is a simple toponym formed on the basis of relief.
