Current situation

On January 24, 1919, the Dashnak terrorists raided Chamirli village of Goycha mahal and burned down the ancient madrasa along with the village.

Information

Chamirli was historically one of the oldest settlements and cultural centers of Goycha. A special madrasa operated here even before Shah Ismail Khatai's march to Arzinjan. It is a historical fact that Miskin Abdal was also one of the disciples of the order of Sufi dervishes of this madrasa, which inculcated Sufi teachings, and this reality is reflected in the information about Khatai's visit to Goycha that has been immortalized in human memory.  Chamırli was located near the village of Gizilvang, next to the Alagol river. It is marked on the 5-verst map of the Caucasus. 244 Azerbaijani lived in village in 1873, 329 people in 1886, 374 people in 1897, 491 people in 1908, 632 people in 1914, and 541 people in 1916. In the spring of 1918-1919, Azerbaijanis were expelled by Armenians. After the establishment of Soviet power in present-day Armenia in 1920, Azerbaijanis were able to return to their villages. 42 Azerbaijanis lived here in 1922.  The village was abolished in 1929.

The toponym was formed on the basis of the ethnonym chomur//chomri which forms a dash of the Turkic tribe called Taka. "-li" is a suffix indicating affiliation. It means "place belonging to the mud/mud tribe". It is an ethnotoponym. Structural adjustment is a toponym.
