Information

Mahmud Yeftci Albanian church is located 2 km east of Uzuntala village of Karvansara district. There is a cemetery next to the Albanian church. The surroundings of the church and the cemetery next to it were rich in ancient Turkish-Oghuz grave monuments with horse and ram sculptures.

The toponym is derived from the combination of the Azerbaijani word "uzun" meaning "big, wide" and the word "tala" meaning "open place in the middle of the forest". It is a toponym with a complex structure arising from relief. The toponym indicates that the village was founded by tribes of Turkic origin, and later Azerbaijanis who are descendants of them lived in this village.
