- Information
In the village of Subatan, there was a holy place called "Ojagli", which was considered as a holy pir. The people of the neighboring villages would also pray and visit the holy Ojagli pir in the center of the village. In the middle of the XIX century (1850-1860), the head of the Mayilli tribe, Karbalay Shikhali, left the village of Chakhirli with 8 families and chose the present Subatan village as their place of residence. The name of the village was changed twice from the first day of its establishment until December 1988.
Ojagli pir has a historical significance as a heritage representing the history of the settlement of Azerbaijanis in the area and their sacred belief way and culture. Pir was visited as a source of hope and faith for the people of the village and region.
