Information

In the Masdara village cemetery, there were four ram statues carved out of stone from the period of the Oghuz tribes, surrounded by grass. Three of them have broken heads. Another one is partially healthy.

The toponym "Masdareh" is derived from the words "mas" and "valley" meaning "Maslar's valley", "Masdaresi". The Maslar are a branch of the Sak tribes that have settled in the South Caucasus, including Western Azerbaijan, since ancient times (around VIII century BC). The name Maslarin remained in the toponyms Masalli, Masazir, Mashtagha, Masis, Meskhet, Khachmas (Khachmaz) in the territory of the modern Republic of Azerbaijan and Western Azerbaijan.
