Information

The village of Seyid Mamish was located 1920 km north-west of the district, on the banks of the Salim River, near the village of Aghkand in the district. The village was named after Seyid Mamish pir. Seyid Mamish was one of the influential and trusted people of the village. Pir was visited not only by the villagers, but also by residents from the surrounding villages. The village of Seyid Mamish was destroyed and liquidated by the Armenians in 1919 after its inhabitants were expelled.

The toponym "Seyid" was created on the basis of the family name and the personal name "Mamish". It means "the village of Mamish from Seyid's family". It is an anthroponym. It is a structurally complex toponym.
