After the forcible expulsion of Azerbaijanis from the village in January 1989, the cemetery and the dome of Qara Seyid were destroyed by Armenians.

Information

The dome of Qara Seyid was located in the cemetery of the village of Quzukand in the Amasya region. The length of the dome was 3.5, width 3.5, and height 2.5 meters. It was built using a mixture of gray stone and white plaster. The dome part was oval in shape, about 1.5 meters. Inside, Qara Seyid's grave was located in the middle. Qara Seyid was an influential and respected test sayyid of the village. Everyone respected him. The village population would visit the dome, light candles, and pray. In Armenian sources, the name of the village is mentioned in the form of "Kuzikand", "Khozikand", and "Khozulu". In 1886, 222 Azerbaijanis lived in the village, in 1897 - 382, in 1908 - 379, in 1914 - 455.
The village was part of the South-West Caucasus Republic established in Kars in 1918-1919. In 1920, as a result of an attack by Armenian armed groups, the village was destroyed and the population was subjected to genocide. With the Kars Treaty concluded in 1921, the village was included in Soviet Armenia as part of the Agbaba district. After that, part of the village's population returned. In 1922, 439 Azerbaijanis lived in the village, 463 in 1926, 497 in 1931, 577 in 1939, 546 in 1959, 856 in 1970, 996 in 1979, and 984 in 1987. In November-December 1988 and January 1989, Azerbaijanis were forcibly expelled from their historical lands.

The toponym "guz" is the Arabic form of the ethnonym "oghuz". It was formed from the combination of the word "kend" in the Turkic ethnonym, which means "residential area, city" in the Turkic language.
