Information

The Muslim tomb dating back to 1319 in Yerevan is one of the historical Azerbaijani monuments that is currently partially buried underground. It is believed to have been built during the Aggoyunlu reign. What distinguishes the tomb from other Muslim tombs is the presence of crypts inside this tomb. The tomb, which is 5–6 meters high and about 6–7 meters wide, was built in a semi-oval shape using thick white marble and red tuff stone. The walls and ceiling of the 4-arched tomb are decorated with carved patterns. A staircase was built from the tomb to the crypt from above. The dome-shaped layer of the tomb above ground collapsed, and a nightclub was built in its place by Armenians, while the crypt section below ground remained partially intact.

The Muslim tomb-crypt located 9 meters underground in Yerevan is an archaeological monument of importance for Azerbaijan, Islam and world history.
