Current situation

After the deportation of Azerbaijanis in 1987-1991, the tomb of Humbat Mahmudoglu in Sariyagub village was destroyed by Armenians.

Information

The tomb of Humbat Mahmudoghlu was located in the cemetery on the breast of the hill, on the left side of the road leading to Boyuk Garagoyunluya and Kalbajar, a little distance from Sariyagub village. The tomb belongs to Mammadov Humbat Mahmud oghlu, a well-known el elder born in 1920, a participant in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. After his death on 07.05.1982, it was built by his son Mammadov Dilman Humbat. The width of the tomb was 3.5-4 meters, the length was 3.5 meters, the height was around 2.5-3 meters, and the height of the tomb roof was around 22.5 meters. The tomb was built from the famous Subatan stone of the region.

Humbat Mahmudoglu tomb was one of the famous shrines of Azerbaijanis from Sariyagub and surroundding villages.
