- Information
There were remains of the tower of VVIII centuries located in the territory of Abdalaghali village, which remained untouched until the deportation of 1987-1991 and which do not raise any doubt that they are examples of Turkish architecture. The toponym originated from the name of the Abdalaghali tribe, which was formed on the basis of the ethnonym Abdal of Turkic origin. It is an ethnotoponym. It is a simple toponym in structure. On the 12th page of the "Iravan province summary book" approved in 1728 and currently kept in the Archives of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey, the village was introduced as the village of Görüçüören with its ancient name, and it was recorded that its annual tax to the sultan's treasury was determined in the amount of 5,210 aghchas. The ancient name of the village - the toponym of Goruchuoren actually has many meanings in itself, the presence of the order of Sufi dervishes who received special training in this village, that is, people who are distinguished by the power of predicting the future, seers; or Kon, who was awarded the highest title of the Sufi dervishes of the village, i.e. the rank of Abdal crete indicates personal belonging. After it was incorporated into the newly created Armenian province in 1828, the name of the village was distorted and written as "Abdiilaghali" in official documents in order to eliminate the toponym and get rid of an ancient word such as "abdal". According to the lists compiled by I. Chopin, 532 Turks lived in Abdalaghali in 1831. The toponym of Abdalaghali was changed to "Vagashen" by the decision of the Central Executive Committee of the Soviet of People's Commissars of the Armenian SSR dated January 3, 1935. In 1937, the policy of Turkification of Abdalaghali was resolved at the state level. 27 Turkish families in the village were deported to Jambul province of Kazakhstan as enemies of the people who opposed the collective farm system. During the Russo-Iranian wars of 1826-1828, the village of Abdalagali changed hands several times and was stopped each time.
The towerbuilt by the Oghuz Turks in the village of Abdalaghali played an important role in protecting the population from invasion and robbery attacks. The construction and architectural style of the castle shows the ancient cultural heritage of Azerbaijan.
